Il 17 gennaio 2015 ho scritto: “non c’è ancora in vista un grande match nel 2015! Come può essere che un pugile passato nei professionisti nel 2008, ha ancora i migliori avversari nei suoi giorni olimpici, ed è ad oggi ancora imbattuto? Sto parlando del match di stasera all’ MGM Grand di Las Vegas, DEONTAY WILDER vs BERMANE STEVERNE. Finito con la vittoria ai punti a favore di WILDER. E WILDER quella notte ha vinto la prestigiosa Cintura dei Pesi Massimi WBC.”

Lo stesso è accaduto lo scorso sabato 4 novembre al Barclay Center di Brooklyn a New York. Titolare del titolo WBC Pesi Massimi, l’americano DEONTAY WILDER 32 anni, vs BERMANE STIVERNE quasi 40 anni. WILDER con un pugno, nel primo round ha messo al tappeto il suo avversario STIVERNE.

STIVERNE si è ritirato da 2 anni e tra un paio di mesi ha 40 anni.
Guardandolo bene, ho pensato che fosse il gemello di SHANNON BRIGGS “Forza andiamo ad abbuffarci…”
Un match ridicolo, STIVERNE non era allenato e almeno di 10 kg più pesante.
STIVERNE non era un match obbligato. WILDER ha fatto una scelta facile.

Il mio pensiero a proposito di sabato scorso?

Primo. Wilder ha fatto quello che doveva fare … ha tirato colpi dritti, non i soliti scatti casuali e selvaggi e ha portato a casa la vittoria in stile emblematico.

Sia chiaro che WILDER ha combattuto contro un “nessuno”.
Era una sorta di combattimento tra pugile vs brocco….
Alcuni fan mi sussurrano: “A questo punto DEONTAY WILDER sembra un campione protetto!” I giorni migliori della grande epoca della categoria dei Pesi Massimi sembra così lontano…

Chi è nello sport o è un appassionato di boxe, ha visto il match come uno scherzo! Sappiamo che WILDER ha sfuggito, si è sottratto al confronto con WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO per anni …
STIVERNE ha ricevuto la sua paga del giorno. Senza un’ombra di ambizione.

Il fine settimana precedente, scorso 28 ottobre, l’inglese, il Campione ANTHONY JOSHUA e CARLOS TAKAM Camerum-Francia, hanno disputato un match decente. Dopo che TAKAM ha subito troppi colpi, nel 10 ° round, l’arbitro ha fermato il match.

L’inglese JOSHUA ha sofferto una frattura al setto nasale, nel 2° round, dopo lo scontro accidentale di teste con l’avversario più basso e più leggero. Poi JOSHUA mette a segno una gran combinazione e gli occhi di TAKAM sanguinano. TKO appunto.

Ora, JOSHUA vs WILDER, per l’unificazione dei titoli delle cinture, WBC, WBA, IBF deve accadere, perché la categoria dei Pesi Massimi abbia un interesse al grande pubblico. ANTONY JOSHUA e DEONTAY WILDER sarà un bel match per l’anno prossimo, se accade, al momento gli organizzatori, stanno facendo cassa, ma di più non possono insistere.

La verità è che la categoria dei Pesi Massimi è  povera di talenti, e così combattono quello che passa il convento…
É una sciocchezza, come le organizzazioni che stanno dietro le Cinture, dia loro una valutazione mondiale…Questo mostra come la scena dei Pesi Massimi del presente, sia in miseria.

Se il match dovesse accadere, se troveranno l’accordo, ecco il mio pensiero su JOSHUA vs WILDER:
ANTHONY JOSHUA stenderà in KO DEONTAY WILDER entro i primi round. JOSHUA ha competenza, è più forte e sicuro di sé. I montanti di JOSHUA sono più duri e compatti. Il pugno di WILDER è troppo largo, troppo selvaggio, sembra non sia mai uscito dal dilettantismo…

Non ha un gran equilibrio, non fa male. Non fatevi impressionare da un pugno a STIVERNE, WILDER ha combattuto un pugile in pensione.

JOSHUA e WILDER sono i migliori Pesi Massimi del momento,

quindi vediamo chi si conferma, “IL CAMPIONE”. JOSHUA è stato in grandi difficoltà contro WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO, in problemi seri, con un ottimo KLITSCHKO ma inevitabilmente avanti nei suoi 41 anni…

WLAD ha dato a JOSHUA tutto il tempo che aveva bisogno per rialzarsi dalle viscere in cui era sprofondato durante il match sino alla vittoria con fermo dell’arbitro per TKO. E l’inglese ha vinto cristallino, contro il vecchio leone.

Così WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO dopo un lungo regno nei Pesi Massimi, ha passato il testimone a ANTHONY JOSHUA. Quel match è stata la migliore lezione che JOSHUA avesse mai potuto apprendere. WILDER non ha combattuto nessuno fino ad oggi … anche se è inutilizzato, è titolare della cintura dei Pesi Massimi WBC.

Prima di lui, la Cintura WBC era nelle solide, forti mani della leggenda dei Pesi Massimi: VITALI KLITSCKHO …che ha combattuto chiunque e avversari di livello altamente competitivo.

WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO, sicuramente,con il suo talento ha tenuto in ostaggio per quasi 10 anni, la categoria dei Pesi Massimi. Primo in classifica sempre per quasi 10 anni…

Lui e suo fratello, i Fratelli KLITSCHKO hanno fatto apparire tutti gli avversari più deboli con la loro dimensione, la loro abilità e la capacità di comandare sul Ring. E che classe…! Bella Gente, questa è la Boxe!

On January 17th, 2015, I wrote: “There isn’t any great fight yet in 2015! How can I guy who had the best opponents in his Olympic days, still undefeated? I’m talking about tonight’s fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, DEONTAY WILDER vs BERMANE STEVERNE. Ended via UD in favor of WILDER. And WILDER that night won the WBC Heavy Weight Belt.”

Again it happened last Saturday, Nov 4th at Barclay Center, Brooklyn NY. American WBC HW title holder WILDER 32 yrs.,vs BERMANE STIVERNE almost 40 yrs. WILDER with one punch, in the 1st round put on the canvas his opponent STIVERNE. See the pic of the two at weigh-in… “-fiouuuuu- a cab for STIVERNE to Mac Donald please!”

STIVERNE has been retired since 2 years and he’s nearly touching 40yrs.
I watched it again and thought it was SHANNON BRIGGS’s twin “Let’s go, fat chump…”
It was a joke of a fight STIVERNE was not trained at all, and 15 pounds heavier

STIVERNE wasn’t a mandatory. WILDER just picked an easy fight.

My thoughts about last Saturday?

First,  Wilder did what he needed to do… he was throwing lazed straight shots, not wild random shots, and got the job done in emphatic style.
Still WILDER fought a nobody.

It was a kind of fight, boxer vs bump….A few fans whisper to me: “At this point, DEONTAY WILDER seems a protected champ!” The best days of the great era of the Heavy Weights division seem so far away…

Whoever is in the Sport or a fan of boxing, cannot see this more than a joke! We know that WILDER eluded WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO for years…
STIVERNE got his payday. Not a nounce of ambition.

The weekend before october 28th, Englishman, Champion ANTHONY JOSHUA vs CARLOS TAKAM Camerum-French Boxer, it was a decent fair fight, After TAKAM taking too many punches in the 10th round, the referee stopped the fight.

Englishman JOSHUA appeared to suffer a broken nose in the 2nd round after an accidental clash of heads with his shorter and lighter opponent. Then JOSHUA throw big combo to leave TAKAM’s eye bleeding.
Now, JOSHUA vs WILDER, unifications of the belts titles, WBC, WBA, IBF need to happen, to keep the Heavy Weight division interesting.

ANTONY JOSHUA and DEONTAY WILDER have both been looked after each other, yes, it will be a good fight next year if it happens, at the moment the promoters are making money off them. The truth is Heavy the Weight division is very poor, so they can only beat whoever is in front of them.

And it seems nonsense, as the organizations behind the belts, give them a world rating …This shows just how the Heavy Weight scene is at present in a terrible misery…
If the fight that need to happen, will find the agreement, here is my thinking about JOSHUA vs WILDER:
ANTHONY JOSHUA will KO DEONTAY WILDER in the early rounds, JOSHUA has skills, is stronger, and is self-confident.

The fits of JOSHUA are harder and compacted. WILDER punch are too large, too wild, seems he never came out from amateur boxing… He has a poor balance, he doesn’t beat hard. Don’t be impressed about one punch vs STIVERNE winning, WILDER fought a retired fighter.

JOSHUA and WILDER are the best Heavy Weights right now so let’s see who stands alone.

JOSHUA was in troubles vs WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO, in truly deep problems, as KLITSCHKO tooks his time, too much…gave JOSHUA all time he needed to raise from the depth of fight to the TKO stoppage victory, winning clair and fair the old LION. So WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO after a long reign in the division passed the relay. That was the best lesson JOSHUA could have ever had.

WILDER fought nobody until today…even if he is undisputed and holder of the WBC Heavy Weight belt. Before him the WBC Heavy Weight was in the stronger, true hands of legend; VITALI KLITSCKHO…which fought against anyone and highly competitive opponents.

WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO definitely, held the division hostage for nearly 10 years, with his true talent and will. An all-time great decade at the top. But honestly who’s to say he and his brother VITALI didn’t just make everyone look weak with their size, skill, and ring generalship! And what a class! This is boxing folks!
