PER MILANO la nostra poetessa Alda Merini ** FOR MILANO our poet Alda Merini

🥊🥊🇮🇹

Milano benedetta

Donna altera e sanguigna

con due mammelle amorose

pronte a sfamare i popoli del mondo,

Milano dagli irti colli

che ha veduto qui

crescere il mio amore

che ora è defunto.

Milano dai vorticosi pensieri

dove le mille allegrie

muoiono piangenti sul Naviglio.

FOR MILANO our poet Alda Merini. FOR MILANO our poet Alda Merini. Our Milanese poet represented one of the most intense voices of the last century, thanks to the unique way in which she knew how to transform the tragedy of a “different” life into universal poetry.

Her interpretation in her poetry, the instant is now. There is no doubt. But life is traced in several instants and not all of them are poetic …

She was born like today the first day of spring, like my Mother Maria. And she died back in 2009 like my Mom Maria.

I remember her at the tobacco coffee bar, just down my street,  here on the corner of the Ripa and via Argelati; today it is a Chinese restaurant, all-you-can-eat- closed since mid-February …because of the coronavirus.

ALDA MERINI from the tobacco bar entertained her readers. He puffed smoke with every breath, the detractors, or better the envious said that she looked like a maitresse, one of those bitches who commodify girls in brothels … purple dress,  low-cut,  with lipstick too red, someone said …

ALDA was so adorable and exaggerated, so free, so unpredictable, just like springtime.

You ALDA MERINI, pride in the world of our Naviglio Grande! Of our Milano.

FOR MILANO

It is not that of loving cusps

changes in the flesh grow,

Blessed Milano.

Haughty and sanguine woman

with two loving breasts

ready to feed the peoples of the world,

Milano with steep hills

who saw here

grow my love

who is now deceased.

Milano with whirling thoughts

where the thousand allegories

they die weeping on the Naviglio Canal.
