YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT ABOUT  BOXING!

No agli zombies ideologici!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr, Champion in 4 different weight divisions: Super Feather, Super Light, Welter, and Super Welter, so I wrote in my BLOG last December 28, 2019:

For Forbes, the magazine that deals with rankings and economic culture is FLOYD “money” MAYWEATHER jr. with $ 915,000.00 million the highest-paid athlete in the 2010/2019 decade.

And as in the tradition of the Great Champions of the Noble Art, a spendthrift and generous … In short, it is easy to see the Boxing Champions distribute money, the fatigue of their sweat… All the great Champions have their hands pierced: I am one of the daughters and I confirm … and I add that in my sport Boxing,  I have seen the racism problem overcome for decades.

Perhaps, for this reason, the defenders of the civil rights of American blacks have also relied on an exceptional black Cassius Clay, who later became Muhammad Ali.

I’ve always heard my father Giancarlo Garbelli talk with great esteem, of his black opponents.

And in the 1950s and 1960s, racism on the streets of the world was very strong.

Those “far west” fights, he Giancarlo Garbelli, a welterweight/middleweight without fear! He did not duck one and all extremely spectacular: Larry Baker, Charlie “tombstone” Smith, Sandy Manuel, Ted Wright … the Italian chroniclers of the time, Giancarlo Fusco, Gianni Brera, Pilade Del Buono, Giuseppe Signori, wrote about him on the third sports page: the cultural page.

Only a fearless like Garbelli, son of the II World War, could have the heart, the courage to accept such opponents!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

The numbers speak, the supremacy of blacks in Boxing is clear. It’s there!

Then there is someone who likes to talk,  like champion Bernard Hopkins, who is the exception that confirms the rule. He is always very averse to the champions of white skin. I never understood why … maybe to get media attention!

Or maybe because there is some bitch who hates the color of black skin, there is the same bitch who hates white skin!

Since the time of Muhammad Ali, the matter has been made clear.

Boxing athletes are not racists.

I’ve never met a racist boxing champion! The exception is Bernard Hopkins.

And I met hundreds of them … fantastic, unique, wonderful!

The system recently tried to keep the black heavyweight upright, like DEONTAY WILDER giving him B-level opponents… was inevitably outclassed by the Englishman TYSON FURY, clearly superior, just last February. A match that ended any objection, was concluded via technical KO.

The Englishman, Tyson “gypsy king” Fury was stratospheric … and he too comes from the Detroit school! A black master like Emanuel Steward has left a legacy that has brought champions such as the Ukrainian brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko to the stars.

So in boxing, black and white have always merged into one goal: to compete for the best vs. the best.

The supremacy of blacks is in the history of heavyweights, the true political arena. From JOE LOUIS to MUHAMMAD ALI, JOE FRAZIER, GEORGE FOREMAN, LARRY HOLMES, KEN NORTON, LENNOX LEWIS, MIKE TYSON, EVANDER HOLYFIELD, LAMON BREWSTER, and DAVID HAYE,  first-rate stars danced all night in the ring for hundreds of millions of $$$$$$$$$$$…in one night!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

The same FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr., Is undoubtedly the record man, with his denial since 2009, in the fight vs the great Filipino, Manny Pacquaio, the pull, in the long run, has made the world so hungry, for the fight vs the Filipino, the brightest and still very top active star in the boxing world as he is very active Senator in the Philippines; the two fought the most lucrative match in boxing history, I was there. Night in Las Vegas and they danced all night long with all TVs and revenues for 600 million $$$$$$$$$.

It was May 2nd,  2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

And I remember very well that when someone in the various interviews “dared” to call FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr  as African-American himself, he replied:

“I’m an American, man. When I go out there and compete in the Olympics they don’t say African American, they say American. I was born on American soil, I’m an American.

“I don’t want you to call me an African American, I’m an American. I’m happy to be black, a black American, but I don’t want to be known as that, you know what I’m saying?

“I love Africa, I’m going to go back to the motherland, I’ve been back there a lot of times, but I’m an American. When I compete on the USA team they don’t say African American, they say American.”

And FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. is not new to signing important checks for the funeral whether it is his American opponents see Genaro Hernandez who died prematurely at the age of 45 or the great, immense champion Joe ‘smokin’ Frazier.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

Floyd Mayweather jr, grew up in a family of Boxing Champions, his father Floyd Mayweather sr., welterweight, was in his corner; and as well as at the corner of good boxers see the Englishman, Ricky Hatton.

Floyd Mayweather jr. is the grandson of his beloved uncle, champion of substance, who has lost only with remarkable opponents such as the superfast American Pernell Whitaker, the great Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez sr., and vs fantastic Russian/Australian Kostya Tszyu

Roger Mayweather who founded the MAYWEATHER Gym in Las Vegas, raised youngers who feel orphaned today, in fact, Roger left in the full pandemic, on March 17th  in Las Vegas, for diabetes at only 58 years old.

Close friends like boxer Ross Thompson took a flight from Buffalo and arrived in a deserted Las Vegas, we followed him on Social. We warned him: was it really worth risking being infected to go to the funeral? … Certain questions have obvious answers between people who have estimated their lives and do not want to leave their lifelong friends without the last goodbye. Only Roger Mayweather’s daughter who studies and works in London could not greet her dad, because she was unable to fly from London to Las Vegas because of Covid-19. For the rest, they were all there, with masks and gloves and the ordering distance.

Many cried for Roger Mayweather, Tanesha a friend of mine from Las Vegas, called me last  March 23rd, she told me about her son who is 21 years old and is very depressed about the death of Roger Mayweather, she encourages him: “You were lucky enough to have him as a teacher and now you have his teachings within you, it’s the best way to remember him …”

On one of my many trips to Las Vegas to cover the most exciting fight in the late 20 years of great boxing, Tanesha reminds me that I  gave her a bottle of our excellent wine, and she confessed to me that he only drank it after years: it was so precious …we had a long friendly talk.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

I have an indelible memory of Roger Mayweather, at some point in his gym in Las Vegas, a semi-circle was formed and in front of a wall, there was a collage with photos of all the greatest champions of American boxing ever.

And Roger with a wooden stick in his hand began to ask questions about that and that other champion, he explained his talents, the fights that took place, and the possible matches that never happened, the comparisons …

If someone said or answered with inaccuracies, his famous phrase remained in the annuals. YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BOXING! …  and between embarrassing laughter, as a good teacher he explained, who, how when, and why a Champion was in one way and another was different … and so on … more!

In short, in addition to the practice in the ring, and with the tools, there was the oral exam to be passed to be part of his legendary gym …

He was a gentleman who had romantic compliments on women.

And he had obtained in a side of the large boxing room, at the full view, a nursery for the boxing mothers who had small children, so that the very young could play, while the mothers trained … A joyful gym was always full of champions who during their stay in Las Vegas they made an appointment for the latest sparring.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

Think if so many black people who feel so cool in proclaiming the violence among themselves in those music raps that are really a hymn to death … had met Roger Mayweather … would have given them one by one esteem and trust.

Roger closed his gym only when he trained FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. At that point, he was the exclusive maestro of FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. unparalleled talent in the art of defense.

I love the Champions with more action, more aggressive, more assaultive, and more spectacular … but no one can doubt Floyd Mayweather’s ability in defense.

Another funeral for Floyd Mayweather jr., Only last February, he lost the mother of his two children, the woman had drug problems.

Perhaps these two losses have dug the soul of FLOYD “money” MAYWEATHER today is 43 years old, perhaps he understood that all the gold in the world does not buy happiness …. but he has always fought for all that money. He flaunted it in the most kitsch and so arrogant way. No boxing champion does not fight for MONEY. After all, they risk their own life. But for Floyd Mayweather jr., “Money” is the only religion.

In his all-defense games, “Hitting without being hit” was his mantra. In the ring, he was not a generous athlete, to the most he was “boring”,  unlike the great Filipino Manny Pacquaio. Floyd Mayweather jr. however, he is, without a doubt, the greatest defensive boxer of his generation.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER jr. pays for GEORGE FLOYD’s funeral service!

Today, in this tragedy in my opinion extreme violence by the American Police Authority, as I have already titled my previous article, and which has triggered demonstrations and unfortunately looting in many American cities in the many squares in the world, and nothing they have to do with the pacifist marches of the blacks who preceded this generation. They marched dignified without breaking or stealing a pin!

These days of protests, wherein every nation, where no one has been mortified by the violence of the US Police, or only a few. Instead, it was preferred to stick to the problem of “race”, which in my opinion, is still in the world today and will always be there, for each “race”, but it is marginal.

Watch out all you youngest of the world, don’t be servants of a single thought.

I saw very young die in black hands and vice versa today we are disgusted with the death of white “knees” …

Let’s keep fighting yes, always, but for the right reason!

Let’s not globalize into a single thought. Let’s not become ideological zombies!

We are the ONLY e UNIQUE.

AND GEORGE FLOYD died of abuse of violence. Not because of the color of his skin.

Bravo Champion Floyd Mayweather jr., To pay for the funeral that is taking place and ending today in Houston. A strong sign of closeness to your people.

So does Senator Manny Pacquaio in the tragedies affecting his Filipino people.

So did today Major of Kyiv, the Champion Vitali Klitschko in the violent protest in Ukraine.

I told you Boxing Champions are so generous…

It would have been an act of humility, the apology due by the US Police Authority with the funeral expenses paid for George Floyd.

And so many people in the squares without any protection and distance in this fatal pandemic that saw so many medical staff in the trenches … such an enormous effort, of these soldiers who protected us, let’s hope it has not evaporated!

There would be no such confusion between abuse of violence and “race”.

Because as a sports journalist said, Jimmy Cannon after the fight between Max Schmeling vs Joe Louis, won by Joe Louis at the Yankee Stadium in New York in 1938: there is only one race, the human race.

And from my father, as he was the philosopher Champion, his quote: Boxing is violent, but violence isn’t boxing.
